Endangered and Threatened Species Off the Coast of North Carolina

Although there are many other organisms that may be affected by inshore and offshore wind installations, endangered and threatened species are of special concern. There are many endangered and threatened species off the coast of North Carolina, and there may be others we do not know about. All species that are considered endangered or threatened are protected under the Endangered Species Act.  Below is a list of the endangered and threatened species according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service.
