Environmental Impacts of Inshore and Offshore Wind Installations
Wind energy shows great promise for the future. While it is a renewable energy, that does not mean that it will be environmentally benign. Installation, operation, and decommissioning of offshore turbines can pose great risk to coastal ecosystems and the organisms within them. Environmental Impact Assessments are required in the permitting process for wind farm construction. Coastal ecosystems play an especially vital role in the life cycle of many fish, turtles and birds. Therefore, the environmental effects of creating wind energy installations must be carefully evaluated in the hope of preventing damage to these fragile ecosystems. Below are some of the most common environmental effects associated with inshore and offshore wind installations.

I would love to use the picture of Barrow wind farm for a presentation next week in Copenhagen at EWEA Offshore 2015; would that be ok?
